It is the First Day of School – Distant Learning!  I can only imagine that some students (and families) are excited for “school” to start back again, and some are filled with anxiety for the unknown.  Please be assured that we, the teachers and I, have those missed feelings as well. You are not alone!  Our partnership will carry us through these waves, and we will prevail!  Please be patient with yourself, with us, and with the kids.  

This week, our first priority is to help all families navigate through the MISD Student Learning Plans.  Teachers will be readily available to help your family during their conference hours (and throughout the day). 

3rd – 4th Grade Parents:  If you are having difficulties with Pearson, please don’t be alarmed.  Our teachers are working on making accessing the online book easier for you.  There are other activities for you choose from, so until you hear from your child’s ELAR teacher, please skip the Pearson activities. 

 

Please Note:

• Having a routine and schedule will be very beneficial.  But, there is no particular time for class or subject.  Do what is best for your family during this time. 

• Please don’t stress about grades or turning in assignments.  If needed, keep everything you are doing in a simple folder to turn in to teachers.

• Let students work at their own pace.  If it is overwhelming for them or you, stop and take a break. 

• Teachers are available to help!  Contact your teachers, and let them guide you through the situation or problem.

 

 

~ Daulton Reminders ~

Teachers are on regular duty schedules, Monday-Friday from 7:30-3:45.  You may contact them at any time via email, and you will get a response on the same day.  However, to provide the most effective assistance, teachers will hold “Conference Time” during the day.  This is the time where you will get immediate response and attention to questions and/or concerns.

Enrichment: 10:00-12:00

Kinder Teachers: 1:00-3:00

First Grade Teachers: 9:00-11:00

Second Grade Teachers: 11:00-1:00

~ MISD NEWS ~

Hard copies of Student Learning will also be available at the meal sites from 11-12, starting Monday, March 23, if you are unable to access it from home.  These meal sites are located at: Glenn Harmon Elementary -- D.P. Morris Elementary -- Annette Perry Elementary  Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary -- Icenhower Intermediate -- Danny Jones Middle 

Technology -- Help Desk will be available to support students, parents, and teachers encountering difficulties with accessing instructional resources provided by the District.  The Help Desk phone number will be published through the public Canvas page, Monday thru Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm.  The launch date for the Help Desk is Monday, March 23, 2020.
